I had to have this plate--but, I do wish it was made of something other than ceramic. I think this would be great for a toddler, but a toddler cannot be trusted with something so breakable if I am a couple of feet away and he decides to throw it. He will have to wait until around four years to be able to use it.

Bought these plates as gifts for two children but wanted to keep one for myself! They are beautifully made and invitingly packaged... both (happily) larger and heavier than I imagined...they arrived quickly and well-wrapped.. biodegradable packing "peanuts", even. So, my two darling children take a lifetime to eat each meal! My husband and I bought them these plates for our 2 and 4 year old. The very first meal they used them they finished in 13 MINUTES! That's right - even the carrot mustache! We use them all the time now and it has made mealtime fun with minimal effort on my part. When will perpetual kid offer Ms. Food Face? The plates were nice and heavy so that my two year old can't through it around too easily like plastic plates and yet it was still small enough that it fits on our highchair tray. I also just bough another to use as a gift for a 3 year old.

When I ordered this, I thought it would be a great gift for my friend. And in the end, it was! She loves it, and whenever I come over to visit her we always eat our snacks on it, and once even dinner! The only problem is that when she put it in the dishwasher, the face morphed became morphed. That, however, only made eating off of it even more hilarious! I would recommend hand washing it, though. Other than that, it is a very cute and enjoyable idea, and it definitely put a new purpose to eating off of a plate!

When we babysit our grandchildren, and their parents are going out to eat, we pick up Chinese food for the grandkids. They love decorating their plates with noodles, rice, and veggies. I bought this for my son to assist him in eating more vegetables. The creativity on my part seems to be making him cooperate more at meal times. He even wants to create the faces himself now! I was surprised at how heavy the dish was also. It is very sturdy, but it is not plastic, so be careful with small children- as it may break easily if dropped from the table!

This is a great product! My son loves it and I love getting creative with making different faces. I guess I thought this was a set for some reason but is only one plate. I also thought it was plastic but is a nice glass plate. So probably not the best idea for smaller kids...probably 4 and up.

This is a great way to make a meal a little more fun. My 5 yo son is definitely amused by this plate, although it hasn't gotten him to try his veggies like I'd hope for! It is the size of a salad plate, so best for snacks and toddlers, perhaps. I wish it was a little bigger, the size of a full dinner plate, since the point is to artfully arrange items. (Hard to find room for 3 fish sticks or 3 chicken nuggets for example.) The quality is really good though... it's a thick, substantial ceramic plate. It's fun!

My 4 year old just loves this plate. It lets her "play" with her food without actually playing with it. For me, I like making the funny faces with her food, it gives us something to laugh at together, and reduces some of the stress that can accompany mealtimes.

Bought this for my 4 year old and she loves it! Just the right size for kids and adults who don't need a 12" plate. Great for mixing up boring meals -- eating veggies is better when you're changing a hairstyle. Only downside is that it's breakable (but who wants to eat off plastic anyway.)

My company has been promoting sustainability, so I bought this and the Snack & Stack Utensils set to use for lunches at work rather than paper plates and disposable plastic ware. Both items are reminiscent of my childhood, and subsequently remind me to explore the inner 5 year old on a daily basis at work. The plate is easy to clean and has a nice size and weight to it. I bought a second set of these items for a friend at work who is equally interested in sustainability and the environment.

I have bought and given as gifts several of the Fred Face Plates. Each kid and the parents have been thrilled. One particular little fellow had a temper issue especially around mealtime and the plate so engaged him that his behavior has improved tremendously.
